Summer 2021 Anime...

I went into the summer looking forward to finishing some Anime and enjoying a new dose of Anime.

Anime that disappointed me...

Peach Boy Riverside (When a director tries something but it falls flat...)
I was aware that Episode 1 wasn't going to be technically episode 1 and I was kind of prepared for it, but in the end it was just CONFUSING. All the episodes were all in the wrong order, I was always confused on what has happened or what is to happen. Forget the plot, the storyline and even the characters. If I can't FOLLOW it, I won't be hooked. Now I can talk about everything else. The plot is mediocre at best and although there was bits and pieces I felt unique, the majority of it was similar to other Anime that I have watched or at least know of. I did however enjoy some characters and also hated others. I don't like the main two characters. It's something I don't tend to say much. I am normally someone who enjoys the MC's but in this case; I just can't. I can probably say that my favourite characters are Frau (because who doesn't love bunnies) and Winnie (although she wasn't in it that much, she at least was entertaining). The opening and ending songs were good but not anything I would listen to outside of the Anime. Overall, it was an entertaining show, especially in fights but the fact remains that I was CONFUSED for the majority of the Anime.

My Rating: 3/5 Stars
Anime Planet AVG Rating: 3.4/5 Stars

RE-MAIN  (An Anime I won't REmember for the sport...)
This wasn't a bad Anime; don't get me wrong, but I already took off a star for the lack of the sport it's meant to portray. The Amnesia/Drama side to it was the main element in it, but I was expecting a more 50/50 at least. I enjoyed this show, but I wouldn't say it was something that was my highlight of the week. The storyline is unique; I'll agree to that. The pacing was done really well for the most part, though some episodes did feel like they dragged and could have been cut in half. I felt so sorry for the main character, imagine having something you worked hard for, suddenly get taking away from you. The reason I don't like this character is because his attitude stinks. The animation is amazing and I really wished we saw more water action for that reason. The opening song was catchy and the ending song was pretty and fitting for the feeling we were feeling at certain episodes. Overall I really did have this Anime way too high on my expectations and that's probably why I feel so disappointed but I am glad I watched this because if anything; I did learn a lesson. Set yourself goals and even if you don't "Win" at a certain thing, if you reached your goal, you did something. Then set a new goal. Keep reaching for a goal at a time.

My Rating: 3.5/5 Stars
Anime Planet AVG Rating: 3.8/5 Stars

---

Other Anime that wasn't as good as I had hoped it to be:
Tokyo Revengers – 4 Stars
I really wanted to rate this 4 1/2 or 5 but it failed to deliver in some situations.
IDOLiSH7: Third BEAT! - 4 Stars
I rated last season the same rating. Drama still high and singing still low. They sing really well; when they get to sing.
I never thought it could get worse than last season, until it did. Also - Naruto/Sasuke vibes...Just why?

--------------------------

Moving onto the Anime that stole me away and dragged me into their world.

The Case Study of Vanitas (when vampire meets steampunk-ness France)
I have watched plenty of Vampire Anime. I got to the point where I thought; is there going to be one that does something different, something to impress me. This definitely impressed me; with the differences in the lore, how its portrayed and the unique element of having the Vampire Parallel World... not sure how else to say it. Basically it's a different version of the "normal" world; where vampires is the norm. Also vampires don't burn, sparkle or get weak in the sunlight (Hurray). There was only one weak episode (Episode 7) that I felt nothing happened and it was kind of a stupid episode to keep the series going. The fact comedy isn't a tag; is criminal. I laughed more that I should have I think; maybe. The pacing of this series was really good and the storytelling was even better. The opening song was catchy but I wouldn't listen to it outside of the Anime. The ending song is a different matter; counting down the days for the full version to be released was something I did regularly. The song is emotionally and beautifully written and sung and the fact you can listen to it in either English or Japanese is just PHENEMOMAL. I prefer the English version; but please listen to both. The main two characters have personalities that at times I despise but then at other times; I ADORE. Their bond that slowly started  growing and growing is something I am enjoying but you know... something is going to go very wrong. Overall this steampunk, drama ridden show was amazing and almost perfect in every way. Roll on the 2nd half of this series.

My Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
Anime Planet AVG Rating: 4.1/5 Stars

My Hero Academia 5  (My Villain Academia was actually the highlight of the whole season)
I will never hate this franchise but I have to say if it wasn't for the "Villain" arc it would have been rated 4 Stars. I really enjoyed the Class A vs Class B section of the season; it was entertaining to see how far they have progressed and what they have to improve on. It was also really good too see the other class in action as we rarely see them. The next couple of sections/ARC's of the season was okay, but nothing spectacular. The last section/ARC was for the Villains and oh boy did I surprise myself by enjoying it. To see things from the "bad guys" perspective was quite intriguing. The fighting in this show is always great and the animation to go with it is good enough to keep me enjoying it. The two opening songs were catchy and perfect for the show and I couldn't help but sing "OOOH HEY BROTHER!!!". The first ending song was really good too and I did like the second ending but not as much as the first. Deku likes to keep us on our toes doesn't he. At least for me; I can't not love him. Even when something new happens to him and he has to learn once again; he does it quickly and he always tries to get along with everyone and be kind to everyone. I have to say that the person in the first ARC that impressed me the most was Uravity. That moment in the fight; I don't want to spoil but, watch it and you know what I mean. That moment makes her best girl for sure. Overall I did enjoy this show but I felt it had less stand out moment than the previous seasons but I am 100% hyped for the next season.

My Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
Anime Planet AVG Rating: 4.2/5 Stars
Fourth Season Rating: 5/5 Stars
Anime Planet AVG Rating: 4.3/5 Stars
Third Season Rating: 5/5 Stars
Anime Planet AVG Rating: 4.4/5 Stars
Second Season Rating: 5/5 Stars
Anime Planet AVG Rating: 4.4/5 Stars
First Season Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
Anime Planet AVG Rating: 4.3/5 Stars

Other Anime that was amazing and was just as good or even better than I had hoped:
I grew up watching my sister play it, for once I got to just sit back with her and watch it. Childhood memories are fun.
Digimon Adventure: 2020 – 4 Stars
Not going to lie but I thought I was going to end up hating this or thinking it was too childish but in the end I fell in love and shed some tears along the way.
Night Head 2041  – 3 ½ Stars
Don't let CG Animation put you off this Anime. It isn't the strongest of this list, but it surprised me the most and also improved the most.

Thank you for reading and I can't wait to put out more posts.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Top Anime Opening Songs of Spring & Summer (2020)

So now Summer is here. I haven't posted anything during this crazy situation we are all going through but now that it's the new season and Anime is coming back in full. It's time to tell you my favorite Opening songs in Summer but of course as I never did Spring, I am merging them both together.
I am also changing the format on how I am doing it this time. Video Format time. It's not the greatest as I don't have the best editing software but I did try my hardest. Spring Anime has a flower Icon in the corner and Summer Anime has a sun Icon in the corner.

Enjoy! ^_^

My Top 5 Anime in Summer 2019

The Summer season has ended and it's already so close to the end of the year, which is crazy as it felt like it only just started. Here is my Top 5 Anime and 1 honourable Mention.

Honourable Mention #1
Bem (12 Eps) – 3 ½ Stars
Everyone gave up this Anime pretty much straight away, but I was determined to watch the whole show; even if it meant I hated the whole journey. The journey of watching this Anime was a hard one to keep at, but the last few episodes showed me why I kept at it and potential this Anime had from the start. The storyline felt very complicated for a short series and I think that’s why there were some issues. I really enjoyed the fights in this Anime and I feel that’s one of the strengths this show needed to keep the few people they managed to keep. The pacing was shaky to start with but then by the end it managed to smooth out.

I feel so bad for hating on Sonia(Summers) in the early episodes as she did start to grow into her own and manged to make me eat my own words. I kept saying that she wasn’t doing enough and she was weak but I have to say; she deserves more praise by the end. Bem, Bera and Bero do not deserve to be hated; when all they do is try to help people. I don’t want to go into too much detail for these three characters as I feel I may spoil a lot of things. I hated more characters than I loved, but that meant the ones I did love; impressed me a lot.

The opening song is catchy; even if it took a good few weeks to get into. The ending song was really good and it was sung by Junna who has done some other amazing Anime songs. I really don’t think there will be more seasons and to be honest, the ending was good enough for me.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? II (12 Eps) – 4 Stars
Finally the wait is over for the next season of this fun, entertaining show. I really thought for a while it was just a joke that we were going to get a second season. I was diving into this with great expectations and at times it lived up to it, but at other times; I was really disappointed. So many things happened didn’t need to happen which just made me lose my focus and bored me. Don’t let that fool you with the fact this show was still funny and entertaining and I did enjoy it. The last few episodes in my opinion had no faults as it was mainly the getting to that point that caused the little issues I had.

I loved Bell last season and that hasn’t changed in this season either. He is just an entertaining character who wants to help those who is in need of help. He really is a hero in many ways and it’s a shame that from my POV, I feel he doesn’t see that. I know a lot of people will go ape crazy with the fact I actually don’t love Hestia. Don’t get me wrong; I like her but I don’t love her. I find her annoying at times but then at other times, I enjoy her onscreen. I do love other main characters in this show but only one character stood out more than other compared to last season. Mikoto was the character that improved the most to me and I loved her in this season.

I don’t really have a lot to talk about when it comes to opening and ending songs; as I wasn’t a fan of the opening or ending song. I do admit when the opening song played; it got me excited for the episode. With a 3rd season now announced; I can now look forward to a new season and hopefully it will improve and make me rate it a 5.

#4
High School Star Musical 3 (12 Eps) – 4 ½ Stars
A lot of Idol/Music Anime either just stay the same or get boring with every season they bring out, but this is one of the few that hasn’t gotten worse but has gotten so much better with everything they do. The storyline in this season was in my mind a lot more mature and handled in a much better way. I felt like they were going to lose in many situations and I did start get really invested in the main storyline in particular. Were there situations that I found stupid and not needed; yes but it was less often than the past seasons. The pacing was done really well and I felt they didn’t drag anything out too much.

I think having so many characters taking the spotlights in this season was one of negative things to occur but I didn’t let that ruin my enjoyment. The main character in this franchise has always been Hoshitani and I love him to pieces and I actually love how he’s like the light to guide everyone and help them come together. The other characters that I loved in this season were; Nayuki, Ageha, Tatsumi and Shiki.

The opening song was really good but I have to admit that the ending song was the better of the two. I loved all the insert songs and I felt they were greatly improved from the previous seasons. I felt more emotions and I could actually relate to some of the songs. The ending of this season did seem a little cheesy and a cheap way of solving a certain situation and it also feels like they may not be doing another season. I would understand if they don’t but I would gladly watch another season or even just ova’s.

#3
Given (11 Eps) – 5 Stars
I am so glad that more BL Anime is being made and not only is it BL but its Music themed too, best of both worlds. I then read the tag noitaminA and I knew this was also going to be an emotional Anime on top of everything else. I adored this show for so many reasons. The plot is unique as it’s very dark and emotional in a realistic way but then it also had those happy moments and times where you can’t help but laugh. The pacing was done really well and I felt they didn’t rush anything or let anything drag on too long.

Ritsuka Uenoyama when first introduced is just like an average guy but whose lost passion in all the things he used to love. At first I didn’t really connect with him, but in time I started to connect and love him as a character. Mafuyu Sato although as with Uenoyama I didn’t relate to at first, I did love him from the moment he entered the scene. I think it was because there was a sad/mysterious backstory to him that made me want to know everything and I enjoyed his presence. Akihiko and Haruki were the other two main characters, although not as important as the two, they were still likeable and Interesting. There wasn’t really any characters that I hated but that one girl did take it too far…you will know what I mean if and when you watch it.

The opening song is amazing and at first I didn’t know the translation so I was just going with how it made me feel and my own interpretation but then after a while I found out the English translation of the song lyrics and it made me love it even more. I love when the opening songs actually relate to the show and it’s not just some random song for an Anime. The ending song is also so pretty and emotional and also seeing the English translation for it just made it that much better. I know a second season hasn’t been announced but a Movie has and it’s said to be more centred around Akihiko and Haruki; so I am looking forward to that and can only hope for a second season. If it never happens then I will keep re-watching this season. Yes; it’s that good.

#2
Fruits Basket 1st Season (25 Eps) – 5 Stars
For someone who could not get into the original anime (2001), this new adaption caught my attention, as I couldn’t wait for the next episode to come each week. This version of the anime just drew me in and it did not require all the extra stuff that other anime uses to get me hooked. The way that the story was told and how it was paced was done really well. Not once did I find it boring or not appealing. Although there were episodes that I felt did not impact me with emotions in previous episodes, but it was needed so that I can breathe, with episodes that had an impact on me; hit me hard.

Tohru is just an innocent, pretty and strong girl. When I say strong, I mean in the mental way; not the strength way. Right from the moment you get introduced to her, you know she’s lost someone she loves and how she’s just trying to live her life without causing too much hassle for anyone else; which takes a lot of strength to do so. Yuki is the quite but lovable character that you see in many Anime but the difference is; he doesn’t see that he deserves to be loved and deserves good things and that makes him that much better than other characters. Kyo is the other main male character and who is the opposite of Yuki with the fact he’s more outgoing and loud. This doesn’t mean he’s not lovable and doesn’t deserve good things. All 3 main characters plus other characters have had tragedies happen in their life and it’s all about helping eachother and making bonds. Also the answer to whom I ship, whom with; it will have to be Tohru with Yuki (Kyo shippers don’t hate me please).

This season had two openings and two ending in total. I have to admit that I loved both endings and I really can’t choose a favourite between them two. The first opening was my favourite and although I didn’t like the second opening to begin with; it started to grow on me. With a second season already announced for next year and with the news they are adapting the whole Manga; we can look forward to many more emotional and memorable moments.

#1
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (26 Eps) – 5 Stars
When I saw this was being animated by ufotable, I may have low key got excited before I even got to watch the trailer or read more about it. I honestly thought it was going to be an average Anime with someone fighting for a reason that was important to him. I have to admit right now; I was so wrong. This Anime not only delivered the best Animation I have seen in a Shounen Anime but also managed to draw me into a world that showed me some really good, sad and epic moments that will be in my memories for a long time coming. I never once felt the pacing was too slow or too fast and when the episodes weren’t filled with Action it was instead used to develop plots or develop characters. I also want to point out that they managed to add comedy within this drama filled show.

Tanjirou; my sweet boy is such a great main character. I have most likely said this about so many other main characters but in this case; he really is one of my favourite male main characters in Anime. The first thing that I noticed was; he wasn’t annoying and I mean NEVER annoying which was such a relief as with most Shounen Anime that comes out has an annoying main character and for me it’s getting repetitive for that. He tries his everything in everything that he does and he never, ever gives up. He sees the best in everything and even shows respect to people and situations most people wouldn’t. His sister Nezuko is just pretty, cute, amazing and the chemistry that Tanjirou has with her is a bond that I rarely see in Anime. So this is where the annoying character comes into play. Zenitsu is a loud, crazy cry-baby but also was the reason why I laughed out loud at times during the show. Here is the underdeveloped character of the show. Inosuke is the character I really want to see more of in the future; not because I hate him, but because I can’t love him at the moment with the lack of development. There was also many other characters that I loved and also others that I didn’t like at all.

This was a two season Anime, but only had one opening and one ending; and I was fine with that. How can I complain about songs sung by LiSA. She has such a great voice and she did both the Opening and Ending song justice. I am really happy they announced a movie to develop the next ARC and hope that after this Movie that a second season is announced as I don’t want this journey to end anytime soon.

----
I had the hardest job putting my Top 3 in the order that I have placed them, as I rated all three; 5 Stars. This season was such a good season for shows to end.

See you for my next post which will be for my Top 5 Fall Anime Openings.

Top 5 Anime Opening Songs of Summer (2019)

The Summer season is here, and with that comes a whole load of new Opening songs. I really love the summer songs, though I feel it's not as good as past seasons.

I would just like to point out, that while making this list. I hadn't heard the opening of Try Knights as it hadn't aired yet, and I also couldn't get a hold of the opening songs for my two Idol Anime that I am watching.

Well here we go, my Top 5 and my honourable mention.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Honourable Mention #1:
Bem
Opening 1 - Uchuu no Kioku by Maaya Sakamoto

--------------------------------------------------------------------

#5
Fruits Basket
Opening 2 – Chime by Ai Otsuka

#4
Given
Opening 1 - Kizuato by Centimilimental

#3
Vinland Saga
Opening 1 - MUKANJYO by Survive Said The Prophet

#2
Dr. Stone
Opening 1 - Good Morning World! by BURNOUT SYNDROMES

#1
Fire Force
Opening 1- Inferno by Mrs.GREEN APPLE

------------------------------------------------------

I would like to point out that my Top 3 were hard to actually order but I did it on the fact I am currently not watching one of them at the moment and may start too soon. Also.. you can't deny how catchy Fire Force opening is.

I will be back with a new post for my Top 5 Anime of Summer and Top 5 Openings of the last season this year... Autumn (Fall).

My Top 5 Anime in Summer 2018

The third season has now ended and only more left for this year. It's crazy how fast it's going. This Season was the most weird, crazy and unfortunately for some Anime, so disappointing. Anime such as Banana Fish will be on the Top 5 Anime of Fall, but I do want to highlight how amazing the show is.

This list will be a combination of Anime I finished from last season, and Anime that was only 12-13 Episodes long.

Honourable Mention #1
Persona 5 The Animation (26 Eps) – 3 ½ Stars
What a roller-coaster this show had me on. I was really hyped for this show, right from when it was announced. I do have to admit, I have only played part of the game, so after a certain point I was going in blind. I am very impressed with some parts of the show, how they changed things from Game to Anime. I love the soundtrack and the Animation was good 50% of the time, average 30% and really poor 20% of the time. Some of the episodes was really stupid and not needed. Though with all the ups and downs, the ending was the huge disappointment of it all. To the ones that have completed the game, they may not care but to those who can't or unable to, we are left on a cliffhanger and we have to wait for an OVA near the end of the year. You are kidding me....after 26 episodes, we are left to wait... WAIT!!!. If I have something to say, it's if you don't know what chose, out of Game or Anime...Choose Game 100%. Also I know it's not impossible as Persona 4 The Animation did so well and I loved that one.

Honourable Mention #2
I got hooked in this crazy world from the get go but little things here and there was just not needed. I loved the horror, creepy parts of it and I also loved the relationship that started forming between Rachel and Zack. There was moments where I was bored or found it not needed. Some parts dragged while others was rushed. I do admit that the main part of the lower rating is because it ended on a cliffhanger and you had to wait for the final 4 episodes in a separate series. So I will quickly point out, if I had the final already, this may have been number 5 or higher instead.

#5
This show was actually surprisingly good for the most part. It had a decent plot, interesting characters and good Animation. There was a lot of cliche moments and boring parts thrown in, which really annoyed me and made me disappointed. The majority of the characters were unique and interesting, even the bad characters. There is a certain female character called Ryoko that a lot of people found annoying and not needed but to be honest, she kicked ass and did as much as she could. Not once did I feel she was in the way, if anything, there was other characters that I felt wasn't needed. I loved the fight scenes, and I mean I adored them. I secretly hope for a second season because the ending wasn't the best and I do hope they can do more, but if they don't I can understand why.

Although this season was amazing, it just couldn’t live up to how good the first season was. There was parts and moments that made me feel disappointed in this show, but then there was moments that reminded me why I love Steins;Gate. The character's were all amazing and portrayed in the right way depending on how the plot was progressing. I felt the first half was really slow and some things just dragged when it could have been done in less episodes and had more episodes focused on situations that needed more time. The tension and being made to sit on the edge of the seat was still present throughout the show and the emotions it had me feeling reminded me of how I felt watching the first season. The ending was actually really neat and awesome. Did I enjoy this show, hell yeah I did, but it just wasn't as good as the first season. Now please no more. Let it be. Time is not to be messed with.

I may be biased when it comes to this show, because any show with hot men… I mean with talented men is a must for me.When this Season was announced I was so happy but also scared to see what will happen as all the Characters were doing different things and aiming for different things. Although at times I felt they were adding in things that weren't needed and dragging out parts and also not enough Rei and Nagisa, I was actually surprised with how AMAZING this was. The character progressions in this series was done really well and I was actually surprised how they managed to put everything together. The opening song was done by OLDCODEX just like the other seasons and it was just as catchy as the others. The ending song was also done by Style Five (the Main 5 Characters VA's). Although I did love the song, it just doesn't beat the other two ending songs they have did. I was slightly disappointed with the ending as it ended mid dive, but because of the text saying more in 2020, I kind of forgive it but.. 2020... 2 years.. we have to wait 2 whole years and of course everyone links it to the Olympics which if it is, that was cleverly done.

I will never not love My Hero, unless they mess it up big time. The only thing that nagged me this season, was I didn't feel as hyped and invested in the second half of the season. The pacing was done really well and I didn't feel like things were rushed, although I kind of wished some parts did go faster. Just like with Free! some character developments and changes were done really well and I love how they take time to not only develop the main character but also the other characters because without the other characters it just wouldn't work, at least not in my opinion. I love the opening and ending songs, although I preferred the second opening and ending over the first ones. After the final two episodes, I am all hyped and ready for the next season that was announced at the end of this season. Until then "PLUS ULTRA!"

#1
Finally I can rate a Attack on Titan Series 5 stars. I have been waiting for something more in this show and I got it this season. There is certain characters I really wanted to grow up, develop and become something more than just a name. There is two characters that stood out to me as being developed, one developed more as main story where the other was literally just one/two episodes. Those two being Armin and Historia, I will not be saying anything more as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't watched this season yet. The pacing in this season was amazing and the storyline was so well put together. The action in this season is so much better than last season and that could be partially the reason why I loved it so much more. Although I loved the opening and ending song, it just isn't the same as Season 1. I can't wait for the next part of this Season in April. Until then, Slay some Titans.

----

This season had a lot of sequels and less new Anime. I do have to admit the sequels did do better than the new ones. I didn't cover a couple of Anime from this season, so if you want to know more about that then just check out my Anime Planet link on the right side of the blog. Can't wait to be back with my Top Anime Opening songs of Fall 2018.

P.S.   Sorry it is out late, I have been ill all month, so I have been taking my time with this.

Top 5 Anime Opening Songs of Summer (2018)

Onto the third season already, oh my gosh. Time is going fast this year. This is looking like a good season for Anime and also a good season for opening songs, at least for the Anime I am watching. It was hard to order 5-2 as they are all amazing songs in their own unique way, but Attack On Titan opening sounds more like an ending song, hence why it's 5th place. Once I heard Banana Fish opening I was hooked, happy and hooked once again. The best EVER. Their was no competition for it. So here it is, my top 5 plus 2 honourable mentions.

I do quickly want to point out that I love a lot of the ending songs this season, but I just don't have the time to do Ending song lists either. I have only ever done it once on this blog and it was just too much effort. Maybe one day I will, but I am hoping to bring something to this blog I had on one of my past blogs.

I will be back with a new post of my Top 5 Anime in Summer and then My Top 5 Opening in Fall.

See you then.

My Top 5 Anime in Summer 2017

Summer 2017 is over and it is now Fall 2017, and there is a lot of interesting Anime, I have my eyes on and also Anime to continue from this season.

I did drop a few Anime this season, for different reasons, but more that I just didn't have time to watch as many as other seasons. I would say, no Anime that I completed was rubbish and waste of my time, but they could have been a little better. Only one Anime that finished this season, blew me away.

Honourable Mention

I was really excited about this Anime, as I love watching the diving when the Olympics is on, but I was really disappointed with the ending of this Anime. During the season, the quality of content has gone up and down like a yoyo, but I was hoping the ending would end on a much higher note but instead I was left with a void of disappointment. It certainly wasn’t the worst Anime I have seen, and It has some really good moments, but the ending… NO! The animation was good and the music was amazing. I just wished the ending would have been better.

I was torn between rating this 4 or 4 ½ stars. But the ending and the animation quality pushed me to the latter. I didn’t know anything about this franchise but I just wanted to watch it and see what it was like for someone who had no inkling on anything about it. It was slow at times and a little weird but other than that it was a pretty decent Anime. It had good fight scenes, emotional scenes and funny scenes. The animation was spot on, but then you wouldn’t expect anything less from the Studio ufotable. The opening and ending songs were really good and I loved how they did the previews, the same way as Tales of Zestria

This was an Anime I really didn’t think I would enjoy. I watched this with my boyfriend, so I felt inclined to not give up after one episode. I am so glad I didn’t give up watching this. I do not like the over the top expressions and actions that the characters do, but EVERYTHING else I loved. It was amazing, every episode brought something new to the table and nothing was boring in this 12 episode series. I never read the Manga, so I wasn’t disappointed as much as most people were with the finale. Each character was unique and “weird” in their own way and the ending song was just perfect. I wasn’t a fan of the opening song, but it did 100% fit the Anime. I have one more thing to say; SUZUI my man….

Okay, so I may have judged this before I watched it, or at least I judged it based of previews. I honestly thought only children would like this Anime, but it wasn’t just for young people. It was really good and if it wasn’t that I felt it was rushed at times, it may have been worth 5 stars. The opening song was amazing… well until it hit halfway through the season, and then sound effects were added into it and it RUINED it. Luckily they didn’t have those from the start or I may have thought differently on the opening song. The fights were AMAZINGLY animated and the characters were amazing, especially the main character.

When I first read the synopsis for this Anime, I was immediately drawn to it and thought it sounded pretty unique and interesting. It had a very solid start, not the best middle, yet not the worst that I have seen in Anime, and then a great ending, and at times shocking. I am glad that it ended in a complete way and not in a way that “we” need a season 2, although I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a season two but based on different characters as I feel that the characters in this season have finished or at least finished being main characters. The action when fight scenes occurred was amazingly animated and the music to EVERY scene was amazing. Both opening songs were awesome and fit the genre of the show. I don’t want to go into too much detail in case I review this at a different time, but this was definitely one of the best original works Anime I have seen in a long time.

After the amazing first season, that I rated 4 ½ stars, I was hoping second season would bring that extra spice and flavour and action… fun… WELL IT DID!.. It was amazing. From the heroes to the villains to the students, all of them were amazing in their own right. I loved every part of the season, even the episodes that weren’t “important”. The fact the secondary characters got a chance to shine at times were needed and I enjoyed it. Deku is my favourite character by far and no matter what happens, I will always cheer him and hope he does his best and even if he fails… I will always support him. I still find Kacchan the most annoying character, well that’s if you don’t include Grape Juice. Both openings and the first ending were amazing. Although I love LiSA a lot, I felt the second ending wasn’t as good as it could be. I can’t wait till the next season, as it’s confirmed.

I can't wait to do this again for the Summer shows.

Until then ...

Top 5 Anime Ending Songs of Summer (2017)

So I decided after doing my Top Openings this Summer, that I would try out doing Ending songs too. Here goes my top 5 Ending songs and 1 honourable mention.

Honourable Mention #1:
Ending 2 - Datte Atashi no Hero. (だってアタシのヒーロー。) by LiSA

-----------------------------------------------

#5
Ending 1 - LAYon-theLINE  by D-selections

Ending 1 - NEW WORLD by Yuuta Hashimoto (橋本裕太)

#3
Ending 1 –  Désir by GARNiDELiA

#2
Ending 2 – Sayonara Moon Town (サヨナラムーンタウン) by Scenarioart

#1
Ending 1 - Taiyou no Elegy (たいようの哀悼歌(エレジー)) by Flower

---------------------

This season, the ending songs have been really surprising and I just had to do this list. The number 1 song, wins hands down, the only other competition is Boruto's ED but.. the note Flower sung.. blew my mind. Once again some songs, weren't available on YouTube due to copyright, so I had to do them, myself.

Hope to do another list like this in the Fall as it was very fun doing the endings.

Top 5 Anime Opening Songs of Summer (2017)

So Summer is half way through and I have had time to listen to all the opening songs over and over again and I can now say I have my top 5 and also 2 honourable mentions as it was really hard to pick any less than these 7.

Honourable Mention #1:
Opening 2 – Sora ni Utaeba (空に歌えば) by amazarashi

Honourable Mention #2:
Opening 1– Hikari Tatsu Ame (ヒカリ断ツ雨) by Soma Saito

-----------------------------------------------

#5
Opening 1 - 10% roll, 10% romance by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN

#4
Opening 1 - Rasen no Yume (螺旋のユメ) by SID

#3
Opening 1 - Taiyou mo Hitoribocchi (太陽もひとりぼっち) by Qyoto

#2
Opening 2 - sh0ut by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Tielle & Gemie

#1
Opening 1 – Hello! My World!!  by fhána
---------------------

I loved the majority of the openings this season, although when I heard them, I was unsure but they all grew on me. Re:creators second opening nearly stole the show once again, but Fhána's voice is just amazing and it captivated me from the first note she sings. The reason I put My Hero as an honourable mention was because I never got the chance to rate the past 2 openings as I have only just recently caught up the current season of the show and this is my least opening for the show. I have to personally upload two of the openings, as I couldn't find them on YouTube due to copyright issues.

Hope to do another list like this in the Fall.

Summer 2016 Anime: A lot of them have disappointed me...

During Summer 2016 a lot of Anime seemed to grab my attention and I couldn't wait to dive right into them, you also had the 2nd half of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World, Kuromukuro and Endride which would end in this season.

The issue there is, the majority of them had potential to being the next big thing, and yet only Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World managed to do that. The other Anime was either amazing, really good but lacked something to being close to perfect or was just.. mediocre or in one case, close to being rubbish.

Perfect Anime:
Image result for re zero cover
  • Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World
    • The character development, story progression and fight scenes were amazing and really had me on the edge of my seat for the majority of the show.
    • The Animation wasn't the best but to be perfectly frank, when it was good, it was perfect and when it wasn't it didn't need to be as the story was just too good.
    • The voice acting was AMAZING. The voice actor of main character and main villain were the best by far.

Close to Perfect Anime:
    • All 4 of these Anime had great potential to being perfect but had a few things that just made me question... Why!?.
  • Tales of Zestiria: The X
    •  The 2 weeks of the "Tales of Berseria" slotted right into the middle of the Anime.
  • Servamp
    • It was mainly the ending that made me rate this lower... and the fact I wasn't really hyped up with ANY of the fights.
  • Orange
    • The Animation was ... questionably the worst I have scene on some scenes along with Cheer Boys!!.
  • Kuromukuro
    • Sometimes it was very slow and certain characters annoyed the hell out of me.
    Good/Entertaining Anime:

    • Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE!
    • Cheer Boys!!
    • B-PROJECT
    Mediocre/Okay Anime:

    • Taboo-Tattoo
    • Rewrite
    • Qualidea Code
    Close to being Rubbish Anime:
    Endride main image
    • Endride
      • The last 4 episodes bar the ending was actually decent, but it was too little to late.
